Experiments with Peace

Experiments with Peace
edited by Jørgen Johansen and John Y Jones

Experiments with Peace was issued as a celebration of, and a gift to, the late Johan Galtung, the father of Peace Research, on his 80th birthday in 2010.

Johan founded the Peace Research Institute in Oslo, but he became a staunch critic of the way the institute transformed into an institute for the study of war, rather than of peace, as he originally formulated it.

Several international peace activists, researchers and academics contributed to this birthday present.

The book is now out of print, but in no way out of relevance.

A Moon Will Rise from the Darkness

A Moon Will Rise from the Darkness
Francesca Albanese

Published as Israel’s genocide in Palestine enters its third year, A Moon Will Rise from the Darkness compiles UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese’s damning reports on Israel’s conduct in Palestine since October 2023.

This book compiles Albanese’s indispensable and damning reports on Israel’s conduct in Palestine since October 2023. First outlining the case that this period should be understood as a genocide, Albanese goes on to explain how the ongoing violence fits into a longer history of Israel’s settler colonialism, and finally presents a devastating indictment against the international corporations that treat mass killing and destruction as a business opportunity.
